The Prince and The Peach

About Us

The Prince and The Peach is an Indie/Americana band based out of Sugar Camp, Wisconsin. Founded by Robert Mesun and Suzanne Johnson, and Amy Holewinski. Rob and Suzanne  have been performing together since 1996, collaborating in various bands, covering a wide range of musical genres, and writing their own original songs. In 2018, they decided to focus exclusively on crafting original music, leading to the creation of their debut full-length album, The Ghost of Me, which was released in the fall of 2020.

When the pandemic hit and venues went dark, The Prince and The Peach refused to stop creating. They released a self-titled EP in the fall of 2022, marking the next chapter in their musical journey. With years of performing together, Robert and Suzanne are incredibly in tune with one another, delivering live performances that are as unique as they are energetic. Each show is infused with playful banter, comedic humor, and a deep connection to the audience, making for an entertaining and lively experience every time.

In 2022 Amy Holewinski transitioned from being behind the scene songwriter and studio vocalist to a pivotal role on stage. She initially appeared playing the drums for the band but later transitioned to playing the keyboard and singing. Her high vocal register help give the live vocals added dimension.  

In late 2025 they reunited with Adam Johnson. One of the original members of the band and a fixture in their cover band The Chillbillys. With the addition of Adam, a fantastic vocalist the harmonies will take on another layer and set them apart from other bands from the region.

In 2023, the band earned recognition at the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) awards, where they were nominated for New Band of the Year and their song "I Wish You Enough" was a finalist in the Folk Song of the Year category.

In 2025 we were they were WAMI nominated for Album of the Year/Folk Category – Brighter Days, Male Vocalist – Robert Mesun,  Female Vocalist – Suzanne Johnson,Performer of the Year/Folk Americana, and Album Artwork – Brighter Days

Once again they were nominated for Band of the year (FolK) for the 2026 WAMI awards. Robert Mesun and Suzanne Johnson were also nominated for vocalist of the year.

 Known for their versatility, The Prince and The Peach can adapt to any performance setting, from intimate acoustic shows to full-band experiences. Whether it’s a cozy venue or a lively festival, the band brings their dynamic sound and infectious energy wherever they go.

 

Music Festivals

The Prince and The Peach has been a regular presence at music festivals, bringing their dynamic sound to a variety of audiences. In 2022, the band was proud to perform at Project North Festival, a highly anticipated event known for celebrating the spirit of community, music, and the great outdoors. Their set at this festival showcased their unique blend of Indie and Americana, drawing in a diverse crowd and solidifying their reputation as one of the area's most exciting live acts.

The following year, 2023, The Prince and The Peach returned to the Project North Festival, where they once again delivered a memorable set. Their continued presence at this beloved festival is a testament to their growing fanbase and the connection they share with their audience. As with their previous year’s performance, the band’s energy and musical chemistry resonated deeply with festival attendees, cementing their place as one of the top regional acts.

The Prince and The Peach has graced the stage at the 2024 Stoneline Valley Festival, another beloved regional event. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse musical lineup, Stoneline Valley Festival provided the perfect setting for the band to showcase their Indie/Americana sound to an enthusiastic crowd. Their performance was met with high energy and positive feedback, further solidifying their reputation as a must-see live act in the area.
